As I reflect on all of the hard work and persistence that went into this show by Islee Jo Williams and her creative team, I am amazed.
This show was phenomenal not only because of the work but because of the message.
I got to experience firsthand the meaning behind REVAMP. The intent is to bring together emerging artists, musicians, and designers for the purpose of giving back to the community. This message was infused throughout the show! It felt like fashion and purpose collided. Everyone I talked to walked away from the show feeling inspired and like they had made a difference as proceeds went to the Non Profit organization City Square.
The Show comprised of 4 Unique designers Yik Styles, Patty Maxine, Amongst The Godz, and Blaque Bamboo Clothing. All of the designers should be proud as they put on a truly moving show. I set front row as model after model destroyed the runway. It is truly something special when you can tell a person feels confident in what they are wearing. Every model seemed to embody the garment they were wearing.
In addition to the fashion, there was music from two very talented local artists who kept the crowd engaged and excited. I loved the diversity in the music choices. I got high energy R & B/Pop from the lovely singer, Timylle Adams. I got conscious rap with an 90s vibe from artists Prince Armani.
There was something for everyone at this event. It was buzzing with creative energy and I couldn’t get enough of it. I can’t wait to see what REVAMP has in store for us next year!
